Following meditation on October 27, 2024, stay for a very special, High Vibes Discussion Group (beginning at approx 10:45am). We are excited to feature a โDeath Cafeโ style discussion co-facilitated by special guest, Marie Ferraro.
What is a โDeath Cafeโ? Death Cafe is a group-led discussion where people gather to discuss, explore and normalize conversations around life, death and dying. By opening up the conversation around mortality, we hope to cultivate acceptance, compassion, and connection with one another as we ponder our one common universal and unavoidable fate. You are welcome to attend, listen, and share in the conversation, if you feel comfortable. It is an open discussion rather than a grief support or counseling group. The objective of a Death Cafe is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'. When we acknowledge that we are going to die, it falls back on ourselves to ask the question, 'In the limited time that I have, what is important for me to do?'. Join us for an open, nurturing, safe and supportive conversation around these deeply meaningful topics. We invite and encourage differing views and beliefs, questions and curiosities. Death Cafe is a global not for profit entity. If you want to know more about Death Cafe follow this link: www.deathcafe.com
To start, we will watch a YouTube video entitled, "REGRET-FREE LIVING" by Bronnie Ware (17:36 mins length, Credit: TEDx). Bronnie is the author of the international bestseller, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying. Applying the wisdom of dying people to her own life, Bronnie will be sharing the importance of courage and conscious choice to create a life free of regrets.
Also, Halloween is almost here! To celebrate spooky season, we invite you to stay after Discussion for a Collective Activity to create/make/take your own โHaunted Mushroom Houseโ decoration. Whatโs a mushroom house? (Instagram video link)
All supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring any extra special items (Halloween stickers, charms, tiny spooky things) to include (or share) for decorating your creation. This Collective Activity will conclude at approx 1pm โ stay for all or part of this special day as your time allows.ย

Sunday Drive 10/27/24 - Death Cafe Discussion & Halloween Make/Take
Following meditation on October 13, 2024, stay for the High Vibes Discussion Group (beginning at approx 10:45am). This week we delve into the topic of "The Power of Letting Go" through Buddhist teaching perspectives. We all know painful memories can haunt not only the mind but also our nervous systems. The good news is that no matter what youโre dealing with โ worry, anxiety, feelings of low self-esteem, procrastination, irritability, grief, sadness, anger, etc โ you can begin to unlearn such tendencies through the practices of mindfulness and meditation. While we tend to look outside of ourselves for answers, the powerful solutions are always within, because healing is an internal journey.
To start, we will watch a YouTube video entitled, "The Power of Letting Go" (22 mins length, Credit: Wisdom Insights) to discover how embracing profound principles can lead to inner peace and transformation. Then, we will discuss the concepts in regards to our own lives and experiences โ usually lasting until about Noon.
>> This is a longer video, so it can be helpful to also watch it in advance: The Power of Letting Go

April 7, 2024 - Spring Mandala
September 22, 2024 - Autumn Equinox Nature Loom
Spring arrived in beautiful form at the Sunday Drive Meditation Collective on April 7, 2024 @langlab_sb as we focused on embracing seasonal changes in nature and life.
Following our particularly empowering meditation session, High Vibes (Laws Of Attraction) Discussion Group participants shared views on the importance of holding a thriving outlook on life as we age.
Afterwards, our Collective Activity led by @stutzjanice in the @artistruncafe was the beautiful creation of a group mandala. The free-flowing patterns and circular shape represented interconnection between the universe, human life, and nature. Making the mandala was a great way of instantly cultivating a deeper sense of connected consciousness among each group member, the seasonal changes and upcoming equinox. ๐ธ๐ฟ
To celebrate the Autumn Equinox on Sunday, September 22, 2024, our focus was once again on seasonal change and the transience (or impermanence, ebb/flow) of life.
To honor the official change of season, our Collective Activity was to create a "Fall Nature Loom". Participants wove fresh flowers, leaves and other natural items, along with our written aspirations and dedications into a group loom.
Our loom creation will be displayed at Sunday Drive sessions to carry our focus through the coming months! Our plan is to collectively release it back to the earth on Sunday, March 2, 2025ย during the final day of Tibetan New Year, also known as Losar.

On Saturday, May 4th, 2024, the SDMC was honored to help kick off the Conscious Michiana (@consciousmichiana) Mind Body Spirit Festival for the 11am Opening 'Calming Presence' Meditation Session on The Mind Stage.ย
We conducted the "Meditate HERE & NOW!" w/Sunday Drive Meditation Collective, Booth #10. Offering instruction on the elements of simple, quiet sitting meditation and short practice sessions throughout the day at the top of every hour.
Another popular attraction at our booth was the "Free Kindness Bowl". Festival attendees were able to pick a "kindness" prompt from our bowl and receive related statements of love & kindness from life coach and Collective member, Janice Stutz (@stutzjanice).ย

On February 11, 2024, Sunday Drive Meditation Collective celebrated the 3rd Day of Losar 2024 (Year of the Wood Dragon) with flower offerings, hanging our new 'Vibe Check' banner, unfurling the Karmapa Dream Flag outside of @langlab_sb and making collective prayer flags in the Artist Run Cafe decorated with our aspirations for the New Year!
"The Wood Dragon reigns until Jan. 29, 2025. It is the only mythological creature in the whole of the Chinese zodiac, implying that under the talons of this totem, we can and should take flight and fight fear. The energy of the Wood Dragon will lend itself to the collective throughout the year to come."
